We would like to help sponsor an urban garden project that benefits the people of Seattle and contributes to the health of the community. If you have a project either established or starting up, please submit it to us for the chance to win $1000 in garden products. See Contest details below.
Deadline to submit: June 21st, 2015
$1,000 gift card* to City People’s Garden Store on Madison Street.
The winner will be notified by July 15th and will have one year to redeem a $1,000 gift card toward seeds, plants, tools, soils, fertilizers, amendments, or other needed items. The $1,000 can be used in increments throughout the year until July 15th, 2016.
CPGS staff will review the submissions, and they will select and notify the winner.
* This gift card can be used as a ‘cash match’ to a grant.
WHO CAN APPLY:
Any non-profit, neighborhood association, community group, or P-Patch group* that has a garden project either new or established that will benefit the people of Seattle and contribute to the health of the community. Projects must be located in Seattle, must have proper permits, if necessary, and provide a public benefit open to all members of the public.
*Must have 501(c)(3) non-profit status or be under the umbrella of a 501(c)(3) organization.
HOW TO APPLY:
Send us a description of the project (no more than two pages) including location, number of people involved, who it will benefit, and how a $1,000 gift card would be spent at City People’s Garden Store to help reach the project goals. (A detailed budget is NOT necessary, just a general idea of expenditures.)
Pictures are welcome and not included in the 2-page limit.
Please include a contact phone and e-mail so that we can follow up with questions should any arise and include your Tax ID number. Deadline for applications is June 21st, 2015.

By entering the project you agree to be mentioned in City People’s Garden Store’s e-newsletter, on our website, Facebook page, and through other social media outlets. You also agree to allow photography of the project throughout its creation and implementation.
